Michael has worked in Finance his entire 28 year career with concentrations in managing and
directing day to day financial operations and annual financial statement audits. During this time,
he held the positions of Controller, Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. His
strengths include his people skills, expertise in the development of strong financial controls
along with high ethical standards. Mike will use his vast experience and value system to serve
his clients in their residential mortgage loan needs in finding the right solution for them.

Michael graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration with a
concentration in Accounting from the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business,
where he also played baseball. His love of sports continued as he coached his children’s sports
teams throughout their youth and now enjoys watching them play the sports they love. A
lifetime Connecticut resident, he now lives in Old Saybrook, CT with his wife and children.

Since the first day my wife and I talked with Mike, he made us feel we were his first priority, and his work also reflected this. He explained every step of the process, and made sure we understood. He never pressured, yet advised and guided diligently. He was open and honest. He went over all charges, answered our questions. He found the mortgage with the best terms. Mike Lane at Northeast Financial is the ONLY contact you need for a mortgage. I've been a real estate agent for 19+ years, and just used Mike for the financing of my OWN home purchase. He is everything you want and need in a professional; RESPONSIVE, KNOWLEDGEABLE, personable, kind... BUT LETS FACE IT, everyone wants the LOWEST RATE possible, and he had that too. You will also deal with Mike for the duration of the process, and won't handed off to other people (nobody wants to feel like a #.) Instead, I felt like Mike's only client. Mike is also a former CFO of a Connecticut company, so he literally watches rates minute by minute, is on top of market trends, etc. The BEST thing about Mike is that my CLIENTS love working with him. One client said he was a "DREAM" to work with, one called him "THE ORACLE OF OPTIONS" (that was pretty clever,) and many commented Mike treated them like "FAMILY." (How great is THAT to hear from clients?!) On a personal & professional note, I also want to say that Northeast Financial required LESS of my financial paperwork than other lenders, and has 20+ lenders they work with to secure the lowest rate, which translated into OPTIONS (as mentioned above,) that I hadn't considered. My loan was approved in 11 days, (and would've been sooner, but I was waiting on my insurance agent.) I'm not easy to impress (having dealt with hundreds of lenders,) and don't write many reviews and do not receive any "kickbacks." I'm writing this to give credit where due, and Mike has EARNED IT a thousand times over. Even if you've already talked to someone, contact Mike for a second opinion so you don't throw your money away. I rest my case.

From the beginning to the end, Mike Lane was and is an absolute pleasure to work with. We didn't end up going for a mortgage with NE- nothing wrong with them! Our situation was unique and we ended up going another route, but definitely will be contacting Mike in the future should we buy another home. Mike is patient, so willing to listen and understand, and he is NOT pushy at all! I had other people pushing ridiculous deals onto us just so they can get their pay, but Mike gave us space to think, was honest, and willing to help find ways that we would be happy with and would work out best.

Well, where do I begin?  It feels odd to write this review, as this is how I discovered Northeast Financial back when I was looking for a new lender.  I did a very specific search and soon found a slew of reviews regarding this brokerage.  Michael Lane, a broker at the firm, came up over and over again in the reviews.  I am here to tell you that everything stated in the reviews is true!  I am not kidding.  Mike Lane is extremely efficient and supportive, to the point where my family felt as if we were his only clients. How he was able to pull that off, I will never know, but I can tell you that when we called with a question, big or small, Mike was there for us.  He built an environment where we felt comfortable with him, yet it was also clear we were in the hands of a professional.  He is quite knowledgeable and knows the industry, and if there was ever a moment where he was not sure about the answer, he was quick to find out and let us know.  His expertise, determination – as he fought for us throughout the entire process, making sure we had the best possible product – calm nature, and timeliness were what we needed after a list of lenders and brokers that did not work out.  Even when there were bumps in the road, Mike did not leave us or ignore our calls.  He worked through it with us, with nicely executed plans and options.  I can speak for my family when I say that we were and are beyond blessed to have had Mike and his team working for us. We truly thank God for them!  Michael will not disappoint.

There are so many words that I can use to describe my experience after working with Michael Lane from Northeast Financial. Let me start with SUPPORT. Having gone through a difficult divorce, the one thing I needed was support. The first time I spoke with Michael, I immediately knew that I had his support. PROFESSIONALISM. Michael showed me compassion. He was down to earth, but the manner in which he spoke to me was professional and tactful. KNOWLEDGEABLE I learned so much from Michael throughout the process of refinancing. There were rights I did not know I had, but Michael was able to explain them to me in depth. RELIABLE. Michael always answered his phone. He never left me hanging, and if he had a prior meeting, he always returned my call right afterwards. REASSURED. There was not a time during this process where I felt like Michael could not get the job done. He was reassuring every step of the way, reminding me that I was stronger than I felt. Michael truly gave me the confidence to reach our ultimate goal.

Michael Lane takes his position seriously. He always had my best interest at heart. I was able to keep my home, so that I could continue to provide a safe environment for my kids. His attention to detail, and straightforward work ethic is exactly what one needs when looking for a mortgage broker. Mike Lane was recommended to us by a friend, and we couldn't have been happier with our interaction.  Even in these trying times when it comes to purchasing a home, Mike answered every call, email,  and text as if we were his only clients; and in this day and age there are a lot of buyers out there right now.
